JAIME HERRERA AKA K-MEL
Jaime Herrera (aka K-MEL) was born in the tiger Anzoategui state (Venezuela) , 20 December 1983. He had been living in this eastern city for 4 years, then he moved to Ciudad Ojeda / Zulia. He was soon attaracted by the world of music and , at the age of 13, he took his first steps through
2006 was the year of transition for him as he dedicated himself to learn and fully understand everything about electronic music, thus starting his career in the turntables at the beginning of 2007.
Practising so much with his first display , he rapidly learned to play the new sounds on the dancefloor, like house, trance , electro, and this was the beginning of his career as a Dj.
Later that same year decided to change his musical influences and the idea of creating an underground movement, playing percussion-dominated subjects, subtle changes of rhythms and experimental sounds like techno and minimal techno .This idea was made with Dj System who also resides in the same city. They gave birth to a group UVG in that same year. And then a new member, Antonio Trotta, joined the group. He is one of the main promoters of minimal in the East Coast of the lake, making it the UVG pioneer in the underground electronic movement of Ciudad Ojeda (Venezuela).
Jaime Herrera (aka K-MEL), has been in the most important radios and clubs in that region such as Gabana (MCBO), the station Mega 99.7 (MCBO), Living Bar (CABIMAS), 50 degrees (CABIMAS ), Single bar (MCBO), Urbe FM (MCBO), Duff rock (Cabimas), Radio Fe y AlegrÃa (Mcbo), Joker bar (Mcbo), Qlimax (currently C.Ojeda-twins) "among others. "
He had important presentations at electronic parties and nightclubs electronic inside the country in cities like Puerto Ordaz (bamboo bar), Valera, San Cristobal and the door (edo trujillo), exhibiting quality and good technique in front of a display.
Display has shared some of the greatest exponents and electronic music producers whom are Venezuelan, PIPPO, ELEKTOR, RAFAEL MARKEZ (Venezuela-Colombia), FIUSET, STH (COLOMBIA), JEDFX, ROCKER Broders, CHARLITOS, GABY, TRIPHONIC, DEFTS Pank, UGLYNELZON, MICK, Danny K, DR DENED to name a few.
During the last 4 months they talked about K-MEL , thanks to the track 2000 watts which belongs to the dj/ producer Brian Sanhaji ( Germany ).and Jaime Herrera made a remix that was edited as 2000 Watt ( K-MEL re-edit ). In spite of not being a remix of the track , because he hadn't the tools , it had a big success in America and it awas a big step in his careeer.
Then he was called by several European labels to seal the track but something couldn't be possible because the artist ( Brian Sanjahi ) didn't authorize it . But it wasn't an impediment to Jaime's success in America Infact, later, he became popular to European public and he was considered to be a techno dj revelation from South America.
Social networks as Facebook supported his work intensily and then he received many invitations for promoting his sets and projects and also international proposals for European sets.
Right now, today released their new producer demotrack next to Elvis Salazar aka dj system, also from Venezuela, belonging to the same group (Ultra violet Gruop / VZLA). The name of the project is Violet pills be released by the Italian label in Milan ( Criminal R3cords) and it will go on sale this summer in electronic music stores in the world.
Jaime Herrera also works with record labels Baba Records of Austria and digital Alien force of Macedonia / UK.
